Learn roller derby!
Are you interested in Roller Derby and would you like to learn how to play it? Are you looking for a community where you'll fit right in? Then come put on your skates!
At the start of every year, we launch our newbie program—affectionately known as the "Freshmeat Class." It kicks off with open practice sessions, where you can try on skates, get a feel for the sport, and learn about our team, community, and the magic of roller derby. If you're ready to commit, you'll join our three-month Freshmeat Class. During this time, we’ll guide you step by step: from learning skating basics to mastering the rules and strategies of the game.
Can't wait until January? No worries! Just fill out this form, and we’ll find a way to get you rolling sooner.

Junior League HBP
Sign up your kid for a skating club by the coaches of the best Czech Roller Derby team!
Not only do we have many talented female athletes in our ranks, but we also have great teachers, instructors, club leaders, health professionals and coaches. So we would like to use these additional superpowers and open the doors of Hard Breakers Prague to new young people!
First of all, we would like to offer a general skating club. All that matters is your interest in skating and movement in general. Interest in Roller Derby or team sports is not a requirement. The club will be designed to develop the skating skills of individuals with possible progression to a narrower focus - Rollerdance, Roller Derby, Skatepark etc.
Please fill out this no obligation questionnaire.
We would like to start during 2025 with the first group, more of mixed skills and ages. Based on interest, we would eventually open up other groups where the strengths are more evenly balanced.

FAQs:
Do I need to know how to skate?
No, that's what we're here to teach you.
Do I have to have skates? Do I need to invest in equipment?
No, you can buy beginner skates and protective gear at Decathlon.
What equipment will I need?
Trekking skates (either flat or heeled), helmet (skateboarding, skating - not cycling or skiing!), knee, elbow and wrist pads, sports clothing and a water bottle.

Less than skating outdoors. :) We will be in a gym with plenty of space for everyone and under expert guidance. Only older skaters will advance to contact drills and only if they are interested in continuing Roller Derby.

SOs and NSOs
Fancy roller derby but don't want to play? No problem! We are always looking for great new people to join our team to help us make our games happen. There are two types of officials in roller derby - skating officials (SO) and non-skating officials (NSO). Skating officials oversee the game to make sure all skaters are playing safely and according to the rules. If they are not, they issue penalties. Non-skating officials are in charge of timing the game itself, recording and timing penalties, keeping score, and much more! Are you interested? Let us know!
